Our Rubric-based grading ensures fairness, transparency, and consistency in evaluating student work. Here are the most important considerations when designing and using rubrics:  Assignments and essays are evaluated based on a detailed rubric with clear criteria (e.g., clarity, argument strength, research depth). Helps ensure fairness and consistency. 

We use this in some courses where letter grades are not critical. Encourages risk-taking and learning without grade pressure. 

Students agree to complete a specific amount/type of work for a predetermined grade. Focuses on effort and learning rather than just outcomes. 

Assignments must meet specific criteria to be counted as complete; students earn grades based on how many assignments they successfully complete at a high standard. 

Students must demonstrate mastery of a subject or skill rather than simply completing assignments. Common in technical and professional programs.
